U.S. Commander to Lead Pacific Tour

MAJURO, Marshall Islands —
Adm. Huntington Hardisty, U.S. commander-in-chief in the Pacific, will brief Pacific Island leaders on military concerns during a tour of Kiribati, the Marshall Islands, and Micronesia starting Monday.
Under a treaty known as the “compact of free association,” the United States operates a sophisticated missile range in the Marshall Islands that has served as a proving ground for the MX and Minuteman missiles.
