Your May 30 article “Kids & Antibiotics” (by Joan Libman) was important reading regarding the issue of overuse of antibiotics.

Unfortunately, however, you limited the explanations for the medication increases to unreasonable parental demand for cure and more frequent infection due to day-care exposure.

The article failed to expose the unholy alliance which exists between physicians and the pharmaceutical industry as a possible source of over-prescription as well.
