Italian Banking Executive Indicted: Enrico Cuccia, 81, head of Italy’s dominant merchant bank, Mediobanca, has been indicted by an Italian magistrate on charges of deceitful bookkeeping. Cuccia is accused of registering the equivalent of $17 million under a false heading in Mediobanca’s balance sheets from 1976 to 1980.
