Oxnard to Stage Police Olympics
The City of Oxnard and the Oxnard Peace Officers Assn. will sponsor the 28th California Police Olympics June 19-25.
A total of 46 competitive events will be held at 34 locations throughout Ventura County, with a few events to be held outside the county. More than 5,300 active or retired police officers statewide have registered to compete.
More than 50,000 spectators are expected to attend the competition, bringing with them an anticipated $5 million in revenue to the county, according to an Olympic spokesman.
Admission is free.
