Half of All Couples Into Birth Control, Report Says

UNITED NATIONS —
About half of all couples where the wife is of reproductive age use some form of contraception, and in developed countries the proportion is about 70%, the United Nations said Friday.
A detailed report by the U.N. Population Division said there was a “rapid increase in contraception use in developing countries,” where the average percentage use was 45%, but as high as 74% in China.
