2 Nicaraguan Officers Ask Costa Rica Asylum

SAN JOSE, Costa Rica —
Two Nicaraguan army officers fled Friday to Costa Rica where they sought political asylum, the Ministry of Security here announced.
The ministry said that Maj. Douglas Zuniga Salazar and Lt. Walter Zuniga Salazar of the Sandinista Popular Army, driving a Soviet-made Lada vehicle on the Pan American Highway, crashed through a chain barrier on the frontier south of Penas Blancas, Nicaragua.
