Gunmen in Northern Ireland shot and killed a Roman Catholic bartender after breaking down the front door of his home with sledgehammers, police said. At least three gunmen took part in the attack on Liam McKee, 36, in Lisburn, eight miles southwest of Belfast. The victim’s mother and brother, who also were in the house, were not injured. The attackers escaped in a car that was later found abandoned a mile away. No one claimed responsibility for the attack, which officials said bore the hallmarks of a sectarian attack by militant Protestants.
