Kevin Dobson of “Knots Landing” is starring as an investigative reporter in “Dead Air,” a TV movie that will air on CBS next season. Based on the novel of the same name by New York Daily News columnist Mike Lupica, “Dead Air” tells of the reporter’s search for a missing network anchorwoman. Also in the cast are Blythe Danner, John Cullum and Josef Sommer.

The TNT cable channel is getting into animation. A two-hour tribute to Hanna-Barbera will run July 17, with Tony Danza and Annie Potts playing host to Yogi Bear, the Flintstones, Scooby Doo, the Jetsons and Huckleberry Hound, among others. Then in October, TNT will present an adaptation of Dr. Seuss’ “The Butter Battle Book,” with Ralph Bakshi doing the animation.

Anthony Quinn’s daughter and son will co-star with him in NBC’s remake of “The Old Man and the Sea.” Valentina Quinn will portray the daughter of the fisherman in the Ernest Hemingway story, played by Quinn. Francesco Quinn will be seen in flashbacks as the fisherman when he was younger. Gary Cole of “Midnight Caller” is also in the cast, playing an American writer.
