‘They Really Deserve Raise’
It seems strange, but some people and institutions still advocate a massive increase in pay for the politicians in Washington.
It begs the question: What good have the politicians done to deserve more of the money we work for?
Take a dollar out--look at it. Does it say “backed by gold”? No? What backs it? Nothing. And please note how much less it buys each year. All while the fools in government spend like mad, often in stupid or wasteful ways. The news has much on that.
The intrusion of government into our lives grows each year; the mismanagement and bureaucracy are a cancer in our nation.
Most of us barely manage to get a raise to cover government-caused inflation. Why should the people who caused it be rewarded?
The idea that a giant pay increase will help to stop the purchase of influence in government is ridiculous; no law will ever stop that.
The people in Congress are not poor, plus they have lots of perks at our expense.
If they can’t make it, then let them leave and let some “regular people” make the decisions. It can’t get worse.
