The Rev. Jesse Jackson, on a four-day visit to Cairo, told the head of Egypt’s Christian Coptic Church on Friday that he can expect a warm welcome on his visit to the United States later this summer.

Pope Shenouda III will visit the United States in August on his first foreign trip since he was accused of stirring up sectarian unrest and banished to a desert monastery in 1981. He was released in 1985.
