Japan Wins Inaugural Volleyball Tournament

Japan’s junior national team crushed the Indonesian national team 15-7, 15-2, 15-3 Sunday to capture the inaugural Asia-Pacific Men’s Volleyball Tournament.

Japan finished the six-nation, round-robin tournament with five victories against no defeats.

In other matches, the Thai beat Australia 15-12, 15-11, 14-16, 15-13; and Singapore defeated Malaysia 7-15, 15-10, 15-12, 15-12.

Thailand finished second in the tournament with a 4-1 record, followed by Australia (3-2), Indonesia (2-3), Singapore (1-4) and Malaysia 0-5.
