A prisoner completing a term in an Indiana halfway house for filing a false consumer products report says a fellow inmate may have helped frame Pete Rose on gambling accusations.

Scott Estes told the Cincinnati Enquirer that Michael Fry, a former associate of Rose, indicated to Estes there was an attempt to frame the Reds’ manager.

Baseball special investigator John M. Dowd said Estes’ allegation is not convincing compared to the amount of evidence he collected against Rose.
