Share

Richard Evans, founder of a Garden Grove computer software company, has been elected president of the 4,000-member UC Irvine Alumni Assn.

Evans, who was graduated from UCI with an economics degree in 1969, has been active in the association and previously served as vice president of finance and administration. He succeeds Peter Stevens, who had held the position since 1987.

“Especially important this year is development of our alumni-advocacy efforts, which harness the collective legislative power of our alumni, and the continuation of a $300,000 drive for endowed undergraduate scholarships,” Evans said.
