‘New Kids on the Block’

Regarding Chris Willman’s review of New Kids on the Block (“New Kids on the Block Give Fans Some Puppy Love Thrills,” Calendar, June 6):

Anyone who puts this band down is just unaware. Haven’t you seen pictures of them? They always flash and pose with their peace signs. And they are always getting to know their fans and talk to them. Now is that sincere or what?

Please don’t bring the New Kids down. Their talent is magnificent. The songs make me happy; the dance routines knock me out. But most of all, their down-to-earth personality is best.

The New Kids on the Block are against drugs and alcohol. And what better influence?

What I love most is when Donnie Wahlberg said: “I would like to meet Mikhail Gorbachev. I think it would be great to sit in a room with him and talk about the situation in the world and try to make peace.” Or when Jon Knight said: “Love yourself and others so we can make our world a better place.” True words from the heart, huh?

I hope they are reading this because they know I’m a true fan. Always and forever! They’ve got tons of talent, and sooner or later will win lots of Grammies! They already have in my book.

So, Donnie, Jon, Danny, Joe and Jordan: You guys are gonna bring the world together because music lets our problems slip away. Peace, hope and love.
