Quaker Fabrics to Be Sold to Italian Firm

FALL RIVER, Mass. — Troubled Quaker Fabrics Corp. has agreed to be bought by a giant Italian holding company for $20.5 million, the company said.
The prospective buyer of the upholstery fabric maker is Unione Manifatture S.p.A., based in Milan. The deal probably will be completed by September, possibly sooner.
