GM of the Year? Dodgers Were Merely Lucky in ’88

Share

It has taken half a season to realize that the problem with the Dodger hitting is not with the players, batting instructors or management, but with the fact that last year’s World Series championship was the result of the accumulation of three or four years’ worth of good luck in one extraordinary season.

We should be thankful for the glorious finish to the 1988 season and realize that the Dodgers are collecting the accumulated bad luck avoided last year.

It is time for the 1989 Dodgers to relax, enjoy the game and celebrate any wins they garner the rest of the year.
