Lucero Wins Feature at Speedway Event

Steve Lucero of Riverside won the four-lap main event in the weekly speedway program at the Orange County Fairgrounds Friday in Costa Mesa.

The race was the 17th running of the Fair Derby, for first division riders. Billy Hammil of Monrovia was second, Alan Christian of Murrieta was third and Bobby Schwartz of Costa Mesa was fourth.

In the four-lap consolation main event, Jim Sisemore of Simi Valley was first, Scott Brant of Riverside was second, Phil Collins of Newport Beach third and Louis Kossuth of Brea fourth.
