Another Alaska Cruise

An increased selection of tours is being offered by Trieloff Tours, which has been among the leading packagers of tours to Hawaii for seniors. It has added an Alaska cruise, with two remaining departures, Aug. 24 and Sept. 14.

Price includes round-trip air transportation from Los Angeles or San Francisco to British Columbia, where visits to Vancouver and Victoria are included.

In Vancouver, travelers board the Daphne for an eight-day cruise of the Inside Passage, with stops at such Alaskan towns as Ketchikan, Juneau, Skagway and Wrangel.

Ground tours of each of these cities are included, as well as two nights’ deluxe accommodations in Vancouver. Tour prices begin at $1,599 per person.

Brook Farm Inn, a 100-year-old restored B&B; in historic Lenox, Mass., is offering a 10% discount for seniors, except during July and August. Regular midweek rates begin at $55 per room a night during late summer and fall, higher on weekends.

Rates are for two people, including a full breakfast each day and English tea in the afternoon. Weekly rates (seven nights) for two from $350 to $765, depending on the season.

Brook Farm Inn has only 12 guest rooms, all with private bath and some with canopied beds and fireplaces. A large library holds 1,200 volumes of poetry and novels, and there is a heated swimming pool and garden.

Prominent attractions near the city of Lenox include the Berkshire Theatre Festival; Tanglewood, where the Boston Symphony frequently appears, and the Norman Rockwell Museum. Hiking and skiing areas are nearby.
