Motorola Inc.: The Schaumburg, Ill., company said profit rose 28% to $154 million in the second quarter, based largely on increased sales of its communications and semiconductor products. Sales rose 14% to $2.39 billion. Motorola’s products include two-way radios, cellular telephones, electronic components and data processing equipment.
