* Mitek Systems, a manufacturer of computer printers and facsimile machines that meet TEMPEST government security standards, reported a $423,000 loss on revenue of $3.3 million for the third quarter ended June 30, contrasted with a loss of $233,000 on sales of $2.5 million for the comparable quarter last year.

Mitek said a $200,000 accrual to cover anticipated warranty claims stemming from design problems was partly responsible for the loss.

For the first nine months of the fiscal year, Mitek’s loss stands at $401,000 on sales of $12.6 million, compared with a loss of $1.4 million on sales of $6 million for the same three quarters last year.
