The U.S. Tennis Assn.'s 1989 National Hardcourt Women's 65 and 70 championships and the Leisure World Super Seniors Tennis Tournament will be Aug. 22 to 27 at the Leisure World Tennis Center, Moulton Parkway between El Toro Road and Santa Maria Avenue.
Sponsored by the Laguna Hills Tennis Club and the Leisure World Recreations Divisions, the tournament is sanctioned by the U.S. Tennis Assn. and the Southern California Tennis Assn.
The tournament is expected to attract about 185 players from across the United States. Last year's tournament included entries from as far away as Massachusetts and Florida.
Cash prizes will be awarded to the winners in each category of play, with trophies for the consolation winners. There will also be a drawing, with all players eligible, for prizes donated by various tennis equipment companies.
The tournament is open to men 65 and over and women 60 and over. All entrants must be U.S. Tennis Assn. members.
