KKGO Format Revision

Excuse me if I can’t swallow KKGO General Manager Saul Levine’s rationale for changing the FM station’s format from jazz to mostly classical music (“KKGO to Add Classical to Its Jazz” by Claudia Puig, July 15).
Levine tells us he is dedicated to keeping classical music alive on Los Angeles radio. Yeah, right! What is not mentioned is that with classical music comes a more affluent, white audience that will allow the altruistic Levine to charge more money for commercials that will sell luxury cars rather than Mr. Jim’s Bar-B-Q.
