One Singular Sensation . . . and Counting: Producer Joseph Papp took the stage at the Shubert Theatre on Broadway Monday night to lead the audience in singing “Happy Birthday” to “A Chorus Line.” The long-running hit show about dancers auditioning for a musical was closing out its 14th year and moving into its 15th. “A Chorus Line” opened on Broadway July 25, 1975.
