Police in London are investigating the reported theft of a $1.9-million Paul Gauguin watercolor from a cargo hangar at London’s Heathrow Airport. The 9x4-inch watercolor, “Tahitienne En Pareo Rouge” (Tahitian woman in a red pareu), was being shipped from Beadlestone William Inc. in New York to the gallery’s London subsidiary. The 100-year-old watercolor is the only painting missing from a consignment of four works.
