Ropak Corp.’s net income for the second quarter declined 38%, to $664,000 from $1.1 million for the like period last year. Revenue rose 8%, to $27.5 million from $25.5 million. For the year’s first six months, net income totaled $875,000, 42% lower than the $1.5 million posted for the first half of 1988. Revenue increased 13%, to $48.4 million from $42.9 million. William H. Roper, Ropak chairman and chief executive, said that net income was affected by higher interest costs, underutilized capacity, including that of a plant not yet in full operation, and market development expenses. Ropak, based in Fullerton, manufactures plastic packaging and handling products for foods, coatings, and a variety of agricultural and industrial materials.
