Bombing Anniversary to Be Marked by Vigil
Activists will mark the 44th anniversary of the bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki at a vigil at 4 p.m. Aug. 5 in Santa Monica City Hall, sponsored by Alliance for Survival.
Gathering around a sculpture by cartoonist Paul Conrad, participants will call for a redirection of funds from nuclear weapons development to funding of programs to feed and house the homeless. Information: (213) 399-1000.
