Planning Chief Quits : Santa Monica
Santa Monica Planning Commissioner Eileen Hecht has resigned from the board, saying it was getting difficult for her to evaluate new projects without having seen the effect of already approved, but not yet built, developments.
Her resignation is effective Aug. 11.
Hecht was appointed to the Planning Commission in July, 1984, and her term was scheduled to expire June, 1992.
In a letter to the City Council, Hecht said: “Since I cannot support any further development until we see the results of our previous approvals, I am unable to continue serving on the Planning Commission.”
