Two Southland realtors have been named to top leadership positions in their trade group, the California Assn. of Realtors.

Jim Antt of Bakersfield was elected 1990 president of the trade group. A member of CAR’s board of directors for 16 years, he will serve a one-year term beginning this November.

Walt McDonald of Riverside was elected the realtor group’s treasurer and will also begin his one-year term in November. Mack Powell of Sacramento was named president-elect, putting him on track for the group’s top elected post in 1991.

As expected, the trade group’s board of directors also accepted a task force’s recommendation by naming Joel Singer executive vice president and state secretary. He will replace Donald Wiedmann, who announced his intention to retire earlier this year after holding the trade group’s top staff position for 11 years.

Singer, currently the group’s chief economist and a vice president, will assume his new duties at the start of next year.
