Roseanne Barr mopped up on critics in a rambling article Monday on the Op-ed Page of the New York Times. She reflected on the onslaught of publicity that has come with her top-rated television show, the discovery of the daughter she gave up for adoption, the break-up of her marriage and her relationship with a new boyfriend. “Perusin’ the news, as I have been for a while, I was surprised to find myself dissected, directed and interjected.” She wrote that the media have described her as standing for motherhood, the little guy, fat people, anti-intellectualism, “people who have cried on Barbara Walters,” and a multitude of other segments of society. “I’ve stood for so many things this year, I think I need to sit down for a while and catch my breath,” Barr wrote.
