The Internal Revenue Service has seized 95 antique cars at museums in Sacramento and Deer Lodge, Mont., for their owner’s alleged failure to pay at least $2.3 million in back income taxes, interest and penalties. The IRS said it plans to leave the cars on display at the Towe Ford Museums until it can be determined how retired banker Edward Towe of Montana will pay the sum. “If necessary, we will sell the vehicles and apply the money for the taxes,” said John Dearing of the IRS’ Sacramento office.
