Envoy to Sudan Selected

WASHINGTON —
President Bush has announced that he will nominate career Foreign Service officer James R. Cheek as ambassador to the Sudan. Cheek, 53, is a former chief of mission and charge d’affaires in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
