Costa Mesa : Power Outage Affects 2,700 Homes, Firms
Power to about 2,700 homes and businesses was cut Thursday morning when a power switch apparently failed, Southern California Edison Co. officials said.
The outage came at 8:48 a.m., with power restored two hours later to all but 140 customers, utility spokesman Steve Nelson said. Full power was restored by early afternoon.
The neighborhoods affected were north of Adams Avenue and west of Harbor Boulevard. Nelson said the apparent failure was in the switch that regulates the flow of power into the neighborhoods.
