NATION : Abzug Likens Abortion, Vietnam
The battle over abortion will involve young people today as the Vietnam War did in the 1960s, former Rep. Bella Abzug (D-N.Y.) told female political activists today.
“Abortion is the Vietnam of this nation for young people everywhere,” Abzug told the opening session of the National Women’s Political Caucus’ biennial convention.
“No civilized nation can be allowed to declare an unborn fetus a person under the Constitution before women are declared persons under the Constitution,” said Abzug, a founder of the caucus 18 years ago.
