Broadway’s 68-year-old Ritz Theatre, which is undergoing a $1.9-million face lift, is also going to sport a new name. The owners, Jujamcyn Theaters, say the Ritz will be known henceforth as the Walter Kerr, after the former New York Herald Tribune and New York Times Pulitzer Prize-winning critic. Kerr, 76, is only the third member of the critical community to have a theater named after him. Brooks Atkinson and Harold Clurman were the others.
