Nielsen Media Research on Tuesday signed a multimillion-dollar contract to develop a Latino ratings service with the two largest Spanish-language television operators, Univision Holdings Inc. and Telemundo Group Inc. Executives of the two companies said the Nielsen Latino ratings will help them attract spending by advertisers and agencies who in the past have been skeptical about the estimated size of the Spanish-language TV audience. The service will be tested this fall in Los Angeles area.
