Gladiss Edwards, Former Pasadena Principal, at 85

Gladiss Edwards, a longtime Pasadenan who was the former principal of Wilson Junior High School and Pasadena High School, died Monday. She was 85.

Mrs. Edwards was born the daughter of a farmer in North Dakota in 1904 and came to Pasadena with her family in 1912.

She was principal of Wilson Junior High from 1950 to 1954 and was principal of Pasadena High School from 1954 to 1965.

She retired in 1965. The auditorium at Pasadena High School bears her name.

Mrs. Edwards is survived by her husband, C. Lewis Edwards, who was mayor of the city from 1962 to 1963, and a daughter, Sharon Girdner of Pasadena.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Pasadena Presbyterian Church.
