The July 21 article about the crises besetting UAL Chairman Stephen M. Wolf, “Iowa Crash Is Latest Crisis for United Chairman Wolf,” reported on the 14 months of negotiations between United Airlines and its pilots union, but you neglect to mention the lengthy bargaining between United and the Assn. of Flight Attendants representing the 13,000 flight attendants employed there.

Negotiations have continued for 23 months, the last seven months with the assistance of a federal mediator. Early in July, the flight attendants voted overwhelmingly to strike if an impasse in bargaining occurs.

The agreement between United and the International Assn. of Machinists, the other union on the property, is up for renewal later this year.
