Stanley Meisler’s article on Monticello (July 30) gives a good introduction to the outstanding site, which contains history, architecture and landscape.

Those intending to visit Monticello should also be aware that it has one of the finest visitor’s centers of any historic site, near Charlottesville (the Thomas Jefferson Visitors Center, Rte. 20 South at Interstate 64, approximately two miles from Monticello).

The full story of Jefferson and of Monticello is told in superb exhibits, many of which feature fascinating artifacts discovered during archeological investigations of the site.
