The pristine setting of Colorado Springs, Colo., will be host to the first Environmental Film Festival April 27-29, organized by the Pike’s Peak Film Council. About 35-40 films, documentaries and short subjects about environmental issues will be screened coinciding with Earth Day. “It isn’t just a film festival, it’s a centerpiece for environmental concerns and environmental groups,” said Jeff Walker, one of the organizers. Walker said he hopes that the film festival will attract big-name film makers like Robert Redford and inspire directors to make films on environmental topics.
