An apology and two first-class round-trip New York-to-Los Angeles tickets were being demanded from USAir by a couple who were kicked off a flight because an attendant said they smelled bad. Randi Freeman, 27, and her husband, Amir Omrani, 30, contend that the airline fabricated the accusation to free up two seats on an overbooked flight. An airline spokesman said other passengers had complained about the pair and that airline employees were following company policy in removing them. Freeman said that airline employees gave them toiletries and accepted them on a later flight, even though neither had showered in the interim.
