Landmark San Francisco Hotel for Sale: The Westin St. Francis Hotel, a San Francisco landmark that has played host to presidents and monarchs, is for sale. Hotel experts expect the 85-year-old hotel on Union Square to fetch more than $300 million. Westin Hotels Limited Partnership of Seattle said it had hired Merrill Lynch Capital Markets to sell the 1,200-room St. Francis and the Westin Hotel in downtown Chicago. The asking price was not disclosed. Westin Hotels & Resorts would continue to manage the properties after the sale under long-term contracts.
