WORLD : Chickens Stolen While Moon Hides

LISBON, Portugal —
Six masked men used the cover of Wednesday night’s lunar eclipse to steal about 6,000 chickens from a farm near the northern Portuguese town of Valenca, police said.
They said an elderly watchman was tied up before the chickens were loaded onto a truck and driven off into the countryside in pitch darkness.
The chickens will probably be slaughtered and sold in the region, they said.
