Catholicism and Latin America
Richard Rodriguez’ remarkably perceptive “A Continental Shift” can be summed up in this ten-word excerpt: “Latin America suffers because it is Catholic. Babies. Guilt. Fatalism.”
To which I would add: Overpopulation, with its inseparable companions--poverty, famine, pestilence, crime and illiteracy!
