The Southwest Chamber Music Society, in residency at Chapman College, will split its 1989-90 season between the Orange campus and the Newport Harbor Art Museum in Newport Beach. It will offer five concerts at Chapman and seven at Newport Harbor. Four of the programs at the two places will be identical.

Two West Coast premieres will highlight the season, which opens Oct. 19 at Chapman and Oct. 21 at Newport Harbor. They will be Hans Werner Henze’s “L’autunno” for Wind Quintet (Jan. 18 at Chapman, Jan. 21 at Newport Harbor), and Charles Wuorinen’s Sonata for Violin and Piano (April 5 at Chapman, April 7 at Newport Harbor).

Because of incorrect information provided to The Times, a recent Calendar story detailing the Southwest Chamber Music Society’s 1989-90 season incorrectly listed violinist Dave Marsh’s position at Cal State Fullerton. Marsh, who recently joined the Society, is a full-time violin teacher at the university.

Five of the society’s members also will be on the music faculty at Chapman: clarinetist Michael Grego, horn player Jeff von der Schmidt (artistic director of the group), violinist Peter Marsh, cellist Richard Treat and bassist Paul Zibits.

The other members of the society are flutist Dorothy Stone, oboist Stuart Horn, bassoonist Leslie Lashinsky, harpist Amy Shulman, soprano Donna Robin, percussionist Karen Ervin-Pershing, pianists Gloria Cheng and Albert Dominguez, violinist Kimiyo Takeya and violist Jan Karlin.

All concerts will begin at 8 p.m. Season subscriptions for seven Newport Harbor concerts and the final Chapman College program will cost $84. Season subscriptions for the five concerts at Chapman will cost $48. Tickets for individual concerts at either place will cost $12 for the general public and $6 for full-time students and seniors.
