Murder Trial Ordered
A San Diego man, accused of killing a man he had just met, was ordered Monday to stand trial on a murder charge.
Ernest Eugene Scott, 31, of East San Diego is accused of fatally shooting Antonio Silva, 33, on July 26 in the garage of Silva’s home in on Mt. Herbert Avenue in Clairemont.
Scott, who is being held in lieu of $1-million bail, shot Silva during an argument, Deputy Dist. Atty. David A. Stutz said.
Testimony during Monday’s preliminary hearing indicated that Scott was under the influence of methamphetamine.
Scott will be arraigned in Superior Court on Sept. 1.
