PRAGUE, Czechoslovakia —
Police arrested a total of 370 protesters, including 50 foreigners, during demonstrations marking the 21st anniversary of the Warsaw Pact invasion of Czechoslovakia, official Czech news reports said today.
The arrests came Monday when police in riot gear and swinging night sticks drove thousands of demonstrators out of sprawling Wenceslas Square as the protesters chanted, “Shame!”
The official Czech news agency CTK blamed dissidents and outside agitators for the Prague confrontation.
