Tropical Storm Isn’t Threat

MIAMI —
The season’s fifth tropical storm was churning along Monday over the open Atlantic, posing no threat to land, forecasters said. It would be very unusual for Erin, which formed late Sunday, to reach the United States given its position more than 1,000 miles southwest of the Azores, a National Hurricane Center spokesman said.
