The World : Top Abu Nidal Aide Slain
Gunmen assassinated a ranking aide of Palestinian terrorist Abu Nidal at Sidon in southern Lebanon. He was identified only by his battle name of Rabah Abdul-Rahim. Police said they do not know his actual identity but said he was known to be a senior member of the command of Abu Nidal’s Revolutionary Council of Fatah faction. They said Abdul-Rahim was driving with his bodyguards into Sidon from Beirut when his car was raked with machine-gun fire. One bodyguard was seriously wounded. No group admitted responsibility for the attack. Abu Nidal, whose real name is Sabri Banna, is on the most-wanted lists in the United States and Western Europe.
