Associate Justice Antonin Scalia of the U.S. Supreme Court will teach a three-week summer class next year at Pepperdine University’s School of Law.

The conservative justice became the youngest member of the nation’s high court when he was appointed by then President Ronald Reagan in 1986. Scalia, 52, previously served as a judge on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia.

Scalia follows in the steps of Chief Justice William H. Rehnquist, who taught a constitutional law course at the university three years ago.

University officials said Scalia’s class will focus on constitutional issues. Scalia will serve as the D. and L. Straus Distinguished Visiting Professor of Law.
