Culver City : Tax Task Force Appointed
The City Council has appointed a 14-member citizens task force to offer suggestions about implementing a proposed business license tax, which would be the first such tax in West Hollywood.
Included on the panel are representatives from the Chamber of Commerce, the West Hollywood Community Alliance and several other groups.
Officials said the panel, which is to meet at least twice, will offer suggestions to a consulting firm hired last month to come up with a plan for implementing the tax, which city officials expect will raise $1 million a year. The firm, Ralph Anderson & Associates, is expected to submit its recommendations to the City Council in October.
Named to the panel were: Brian Scane, Catherine Stribling, Tim Smith, Marshall Dorbry, Lynn Strickland, Ernest Klinger, Don Schlegel, Dennis Holt, Michael Neimeyer, Sal Messineo, Gabrielle Boone, Gene Scott, Terry Prohaska and Dr. Wes Wheadon.
